Standard Wheelchair Platform

“We use the platform as a normal chair using a normal dental stool. I can see no reason why I should want to move the platform around”
David Townsend (Assistant Clinical Director)
Waterlooville Health CentreThe Standard Wheelchair Platform is a static floor mounted unit that was designed and developed by Design Specific engineers in conjunction with staff at Guy’s Hospital. It provides the ultimate tilt experience from a fixed, floor-mounted platform and presents the patient to the practitioner at a safe and comfortable working height.
Only minimal installation is required to create a dedicated area for disability dentistry. It can be positioned adjacent to a conventional chair and share treatment supplies and facilities.
The Standard Wheelchair Platform accommodates all types of wheelchair, including battery-operated models. It is open-sided, to enable close contact with the patient at all times, and is controlled either by a radio handset or conveniently positioned surface mounted switches.
The unit tilts up to 45° - ideal for placing the patient’s head at lap height - and will support up to 270 Kg. Constant, active microprocessor monitoring of the platform ensures complete safety while in the Standard Wheelchair Platform is in operation.
